A New Year in any culture brings new joy, new hope, new inspiration, new desires and new achievements with new taste of life. As the Chinese say; “may your fears fade away, your strength be renewed and your dreams come true” – a beautiful sentiment!

This year is the year of the Rooster, People born in the Year of the Rooster are characterised as honest, energetic, intelligent, flexible and confident. The general image of people in this zodiac sign is that they are hardworking, resourceful, confident and talented. In addition, their active, talkative and engaging ways make them popular with people. They are happiest when they are in company, enjoying the spotlight. Although they were born with enviable skills, they still have several shortcomings, such as being seen as vain and arrogant with a tendency to brag about their achievements. Roosters tend to be healthy, sporty and self-assured however they can be a little sensitive, stressed and moody, (I think we all have a little Rooster in us if that’s the case!!).

Not all Roosters are equal though, as you probably know the Chinese Zodiac rotates every 12 years however, not all Roosters are equal, there are five different types which relate to the five elements of the zodiac, each with different characteristics, the elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and water. This is the year of the Fire Rooster, which last fell in 1957. Fire Roosters are known for being trustworthy, punctual and responsible (especially at work).

So if you’re looking to employ someone new over the next twelve months, 60 year old Roosters are the thing to go for!!
